Scoir Day
Moderator Instructions
Congrats! You've been tasked with moderating your high school's Scoir Day. We've made the instructions nice and easy, with a couple of different options.
Short Version
(e.g. homeroom, 15-20 minutes)
Part I
-
If you have time, please share this video tutorial with your students (15 minutes).
Part II
-
Have your students open their email accounts and find the email from Scoir with the subject line "Introducing Scoir!" ***
-
Have the students click "Sign Up Now!"
-
On the welcome page, the students must create a password for their Scoir accounts, click on the box that states they are over 13, and click on the box that says, "I'm not a robot." then click on "Sign Up."
-
Once logged into Scoir, the students will be prompted to answer a few questions. While these questions are optional, explain to the students that the answers will help them find colleges that will fit their personal and academic interests.
-
Once they click "Got it", they can begin using the platform.
***If you do not have student emails in Scoir, you can Post your School-Specific URL for Student Signups. They will need to enter their date of birth and student ID in order to complete registration and be linked to your school.
Part III
-
Have your students download Scoir’s mobile app in the App Store. They should input their username (email) and password to gain access to their account. Encourage the students to allow for Push Notifications so they can receive important messages, such as when colleges are visiting your school.
Extended Version
(e.g. full class period)
-
Complete steps I-III above
Part IV
-
Have your students complete these tasks in their new account.
(We recommend you display this guide for the class or print copies so students can work at their own pace.)
