Here are 3 ways you can discover more about careers, colleges, and you this summer!
So first things first...what do you want to do in the future? It can be a scary question to think about (trust me, I've been there!) but I believe it can be a little less intimidating to think of it like: what kind of general path interests you or makes you the happiest?
Whether you want to be a nurse, work in creative arts, or dive into finance, you can discover which career paths might interest you with our new Careers feature!
Starting From Scratch? ✏️
To start, definitely check out the Career Assessment in Scoir—you get to answer questions about what you like to do, and in 5 minutes, you'll be presented with careers that might be a match for you!
Explore what "a day in the life" of that career would be like, the average salary and general outlook of the career, and more!
Already Have Some Paths in Mind? 💭
Okay, so let's say that you already have an idea of what you want to do as a job: you can now search for that career right in the new Careers tab! (To better organize the search experience, Careers is one of the new tabs in the main Discover menu!)
Here you can explore 900+ different careers. You can even customize your search using filters like Career Clusters (which will show you similar careers in the field), Education Needed, and more.
Plus, for quick access, you can now easily search for careers in the Search Bar!
There are a bunch of different ways to discover colleges in Scoir! Here are two ways to explore:
Search Away! 🔎
First, let's say you want to search for colleges using certain characteristics. Maybe you're looking for a medium-sized school in New York that offers rock climbing? In the Colleges tab within Discover, you can easily select your desired characteristics from the dropdown menu, and even click All Filters to further customize your search!
Once you've added your filters, click on the college's profile to learn more, Follow colleges, and add them to your College Compare view (where you can compare up to 4 colleges side-by-side)!
What about the #Posts I'm Seeing? 🖼️
So what if you're just starting your search and want to see colleges with, for example, Study Abroad programs or Scholarships? In the new #Posts tab, you can find exactly what YOU are looking for, with content coming directly from the colleges themselves!
Click on any of the suggested buttons at the top (from #Dorms to #VirtualTours) or explore all of the possible posts by clicking All Categories.
This is a great way to customize your search and discover what is a make-or-break for you in this college journey! Don't forget, you can access #Posts any time by entering your search word in the main Search Bar at the top of your screen.
